Carrington West is assisting a local authority client based in the West Midlands in the search for a Senior Planning Officer to join the Development Management team in the Town Planning department on an initial 3‐month contract.

Responsibilities

  • Process a combination of reallocated and new applications, including householder and minor planning applications, pre‐applications, and associated appeals.
  • Lead on newer planning application submissions across a mix of minor application types, including extensions, lawful developments and changes of use.
  • Manage own case load of work with little to no supervision.

Qualifications

  • At least a few years of experience in planning or related disciplines.
  • Experience working with members and the public is desirable but not essential.
  • Familiarity with the APAS software used in the planning department.
  • Post‐graduate degree in planning, regeneration or a related discipline.
  • Eligibility for membership of RTPI.

Pay Rate: £45 per hour (Negotiable depending on experience)
