Make the Plan for Good Growth in the East Midlands. Are you an ambitious planner looking for an opportunity to deliver one of the first regional plans in the country? The East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) is seeking motivated planning professionals to join our growing Planning Team and play a key role in the preparation and delivery of the East Midlands' Spatial Development Strategy (SDS). This is a unique opportunity in a time of change to provide the vision, certainty and clarity our region needs to support sustainable and inclusive development, infrastructure investment and economic prosperity.

We are recruiting at both Planning Officer and Senior Planner level. Working alongside experienced planning professionals, you will lead defined workstreams, contribute to major strategic planning projects and support the development of planning policy that will have a lasting impact across the region.

  • Senior Planning Officer: You will Deputise for the Head of Planning and provide leadership and support to the wider Planning Team. The role involves providing expert planning advice, representing EMCCA at formal proceedings, preparing strategic reports and business cases, building effective partnerships, and supporting the continuous improvement and best practice within the planning function.
  • Planning Officer: You will support the planning team, leading planning projects, managing evidence and research, and preparing reports to inform decision-making. The role includes supporting stakeholder engagement and consultation activities, supporting EMCCA at formal proceedings, and partnership working across the region, while providing day-to-day support and coaching to the Planning Assistant.
