An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Town Planner to join a well-established and growing planning consultancy based near Shrewsbury.
This is an exciting role for a commercially minded Senior Town Planner looking to manage a varied portfolio of planning projects while working alongside a highly experienced team of planning professionals.
You will take ownership of planning cases from initial instruction through to determination, providing expert planning advice to a diverse client base and representing clients throughout the planning process.
The Role
The successful Senior Town Planner will be responsible for
- Managing a varied caseload of planning applications from appointment through to determination.
- Assessing new planning enquiries and advising on planning strategy.
- Researching planning history, planning policy and site constraints.
- Undertaking site visits and preparing planning appraisals.
- Preparing fee proposals and quotations.
- Producing high-quality planning statements, supporting documents, Certificates of Lawfulness and appeal submissions.
- Liaising and negotiating with Local Planning Authorities, consultees and other stakeholders.
- Monitoring planning applications and keeping clients informed throughout the process.
- Representing clients at meetings, hearings and planning-related events.
About You
Essential
- Postgraduate qualification from an RTPI-accredited planning course.
- Chartered Membership of the RTPI (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate technical reports.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Confident communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
- Experience representing planning cases at appeal.
