An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and highly motivated professional to join our National Park planning team.
Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park is an iconic location, rich in heritage and culture, internationally renowned for our spectacular landscapes and dark skies, enjoyed and visited by millions every year, home to over 33,500 people and bursting with potential. It is also a fragile place, working with our communities and stakeholders we need to find a sustainable future where nature is recovering, where we are tackling the climate and biodiversity crises and where future generations can thrive and find wellbeing.
We are about to start the preparation of our replacement local development plan and this post will play a key role in leading our statutory planning policy functions to help deliver the future vision for the National Park and our Management Plan.
We are looking for an experienced planning professional to lead our planning policy team, with a good grasp of relevant issues, and an ability to develop and apply new concepts and ideas in planning policy engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
Based in Brecon, we are a small, friendly organisation that supports flexible working and a blended mix of office and home working. We also offer a range of other benefits including a generous contributory Local Government pension, paid Membership fees to the RTPI and up to 30 days leave.
