Do you have experience of planning matters, including planning enforcement? Does the idea of delivering an effective planning enforcement service within a team environment appeal to you? The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority has an exciting new opportunity to join our Development Management department as an Enforcement Officer, helping to create great places for people to live, work, and enjoy throughout Pembrokeshire.

As part of this role, you will assist the National Park in carrying out its statutory purpose, acting as the case officer for a range of planning enforcement investigations. The role includes:

  • Providing advice on all planning enforcement matters
  • Analysing and interpreting information to determine whether a breach has occurred
  • Taking appropriate action to remedy a breach
  • Attending public meetings, planning appeal hearings and inquiries, and site visits
  • Preparing and issuing statutory notices, evidence, and written statements relating to enforcement matters

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Knowledge of planning legislation, policies and investigative/legal procedures
  • Experience of Planning Enforcement
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Good IT skills with the ability to prepare complex written reports and excellent oral and written communication
  • Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute or to be eligible for membership
  • Extensive experience of planning matters, including planning enforcement in a committee environment, and experience of planning appeals, hearings, and public inquiries

Salary and Benefits:

A salary of £32,597–£34,434 per annum, minimum 25 days’ holiday rising to 30 days plus public holidays, generous local government pension scheme, great flexible working arrangements and career development opportunities.
