The Opportunity

There is a challenging agenda for growth in Charnwood and the wider Leicester and Leicestershire area. This role provides an opportunity to make a significant and immediate contribution to this, working with partners across the area to support the preparation of the Strategic Development Strategy and in leading the Council’s planning policy, environment infrastructure funding teams. We will offer you plentiful and varied experience in a key management role within our Planning and Growth Service and an opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills day to day.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, motivated and organised planning professional with substantial experience of planning policy preparation and experience of managing local plans through to adoption and wider planning practice. You may already be managing a local plan team or be looking to make the next step in your career towards a leadership role. You will need to be a team player with a positive approach, willing to contribute to the delivery of transformational change and continuous improvement to secure excellent customer service.
