Carrington West are working with a highly regarded planning consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Associate or Senior Associate Town Planner to join its growing team, specialising in logistics and employment developments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planning professional with 7-10 years' experience to take a leading role on some of the UK's most significant and high-profile development projects, working with international clients and major stakeholders.

The Role

As an Associate / Senior Associate, you will play a key role in managing and leading the planning process for large-scale logistics and employment schemes, from initial strategy through to planning submission and determination.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Leading and managing the preparation and submission of major planning applications.
  • Developing and implementing planning strategies for complex logistics and employment developments.
  • Managing projects from inception through to determination.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for high-profile, international clients.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and external consultants.
  • Engaging with local planning authorities, stakeholders and other key parties.
  • Providing commercially focused planning advice to clients.
  • Supporting business development and helping to develop existing client relationships.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior members of the planning team.

About You

  • We are looking for a highly experienced planning professional who can demonstrate:
  • 7-10 years' relevant UK planning experience.
  • A strong track record in logistics, employment or other large-scale commercial development.
  • Experience managing and leading complex planning applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK planning system and development management process.
  • Strong client management and communication skills.
  • The ability to confidently manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities.
  • The confidence and credibility to operate at Associate / Senior Associate level.

RTPI membership or working towards chartership would be advantageous.
