The predicted salary is between 45091 - 49282 £ per year.
We are looking for an Active Travel Project Officer to play a key role in delivering practical, on-the-ground active travel improvements across the district and to promote sustainable transport and encourage positive changes in travel behaviour.
In this role, you will champion active travel by improving and connecting walking, wheeling and cycling networks across the district. The post will involve close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders including West Sussex County Council, Parish and Neighbourhood Councils and community groups, and help ensure everyday journeys become safer, more accessible and enjoyable for people of all ages.
This is an opportunity to shape how people move around their communities, improve public health outcomes, and contribute to climate priorities in a visible and meaningful way.
About you
To succeed in this role, you should possess relevant qualifications or equivalent practical experience in active travel, transport, public realm, planning, regeneration, highways, or health or place-based projects involving active travel. You will also be able to work under clear instruction and independently, and use your initiative to develop, recommend and progress solutions. Excellent partnership building skills and the ability to lead multi-agency initiatives is essential.
