Our client in a local authority based in North London requires a Senior Planning Enforcement Officer to join them for a contract role. This is a customer-focused role and you will assist in the timely and appropriate conclusion of planning enforcement cases, both new and historic.
You will be responsible for providing expert technical advice at every stage of an enforcement case. On a daily basis, you will be required to carry out investigations into planning complaints and enquiries and make recommendations on appropriate further action. This will include the serving and monitoring of compliance with abatement notices, stop notices, enforcement notices, breach of condition notices, section 215 notices and producing witness statements for the service of summonses. You will also carry out site visits and interviews where required and represent the Council at committee meetings.
Recent work experience in the field is essential and your knowledge of current planning legislation and guidelines will need to be fully up to date. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format. As a senior member of the team, you will also support and provide guidance to junior officers.
The role will be offered with a rate of £45/hr Umbrella and this role is inside IR35. This contract will initially run until August, but there is potential for an extension. This will be a hybrid role, you will be based in the office a minimum of 2 days a week.
