Our client is a Local Authority in North London. They need a Senior Planning Officer to take up a role dealing with assessing a range of planning applications at every stage. You will be involved with consultation exercises, providing written reports, carrying out site assessments and dealing with appeals. On occasion, you will represent the Council at Informal Hearings and Public Inquiries. On a day-to-day basis, you will liaise with agents, applicants and the public.
A key part of the role will be providing informed, accurate pre-application advice to prospective developers. You will also have a role to play in negotiating agreements under S.106 of the Town and Country Planning Act.
We are looking for an established Town Planning Officer with significant experience in a Local Authority planning environment. The role will initially be offered as a 3 month contract, but is expected to be a rolling placement. The rate offered is £40.59/hr (umbrella).
