You will join a Local Authority within the Home Counties as an experienced Development Management Team Leader / Major Development Management Team Leader, providing leadership, technical expertise, and strategic support within a busy Development Management service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning professional who can lead and support a team of planners, manage complex and high-profile planning applications, and provide expert Development Management advice across a range of major and challenging schemes. The successful Development Management Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a high-quality planning service, supporting staff development, managing performance, and working collaboratively with senior officers, Members, developers, and external stakeholders. You will take a lead role in complex casework, strategic negotiations, planning appeals, public inquiries, and providing expert advice on planning legislation, policy, and procedures.

- Hourly rate - £75 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Previous Local Authority Development Management experience essential
- Experience managing and developing planning teams required
- Strong experience determining complex planning applications required
- Experience with major developments, committees, appeals, and public inquiries desirable
- Strong knowledge of planning legislation, TCPA, NPPF, and Local Plan policies required
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills required
