Flexible Hours | Office-Based Preferred with Some Home Working

At AssetSphere, we believe land and property hold immense potential — and we help our clients unlock it. We’re an independent and innovative property consultancy supporting farmers, landowners, private clients, corporates, and public sector organisations across the South of England.

Founded in 2000, our multidisciplinary team works across estate management, planning, surveying, environmental consultancy, architecture, and project delivery. Our projects range from renewable energy installations and agri-environment schemes to commercial builds, rural diversification, and large-scale residential masterplans.

We’re looking to add a talented Chartered Town Planner with strong rural planning experience and excellent client-facing skills to join our dedicated, close-knit team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across a variety of projects, values autonomy, and is looking to make a meaningful contribution within a supportive consultancy environment.

About the Role
We are offering two opportunities — one full-time and one part-time — depending on your availability and preference. Both roles are suited to candidates looking to contribute meaningfully while enjoying a good work-life balance.

Key responsibilities include:
• Leading and managing rural and commercial planning projects
• Preparing and submitting planning applications and associated documentation
• Supporting clients from project inception through to planning consent
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities
• Identifying and developing new business opportunities
• Mentoring junior colleagues (for experienced candidates)

Who We’re Looking For
You will be a confident, motivated professional who enjoys working independently but thrives in a collaborative team. Ideally, you\’ll be located within one hour’s travel of our office in Sherborne.

You’ll bring:
• MRTPI qualification (essential)
• Relevant planning degree (BSc/BA)
• Experience in rural or mixed-use planning, ideally across both public and private sectors
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset
• A genuine interest in rural development and land use planning

What We Offer
We value flexibility, wellbeing, and purpose. As part of our team, you’ll enjoy:
• Full-time or part-time options
• Ideally office-based, but with scope for working from home when needed
• Competitive salary tailored to experience
• 24 days annual leave plus your birthday off
• Private medical insurance (after 12 months)
• 5% employer pension contribution
• Relaxed, friendly office environment with like-minded professionals
• Opportunities to work on varied, high-impact projects across the rural and development sectors

Why AssetSphere?
We’re small enough for you to make a difference — and established enough to offer security, support, and exciting work. If you’re looking to grow your career in a positive, client-focused environment, this could be the right move.
