Specialist Outpatient Occupational Therapist

Our well‑known client, one of the largest providers of privately funded healthcare in the UK, has a Specialist Occupational Therapist vacancy in London. The hospital is entirely dedicated to women and children, offering expertise in paediatrics, obstetrics, and women’s health.

The role offers a competitive salary of £42,500, a 37.5 hour week, and full‑time employment in London. A paediatric background and experience in a hospital setting are required, with sponsorship available for UK residents.

Although the position is predominantly outpatient, the candidate will assist with inpatient caseloads as needed and support service development projects with the Clinical Lead and Advanced Occupational Therapists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a professional, high‑quality Occupational Therapy service is delivered to children and families.
  • Work independently with autonomy, providing assessments, treatment interventions, treatment planning, and joint MDT goal‑setting meetings.
  • Promote service development within the department alongside the Clinical Lead and supervisors.
  • Supervise students and provide appropriate clinical and learning opportunities.
  • Supervise and provide learning for therapy assistants.
  • Undertake ongoing CPD learning opportunities, contribute to specialist service development, implement policy changes, monitor standards of clinical practice, and perform additional tasks as relevant.
  • Promote OT to all stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent).
  • Current registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Minimum 2 years experience in paediatrics in a clinical setting, such as an outpatient clinic hospital; previous hospital and acute experience or exposure is beneficial.
  • Knowledge and application of paediatric OT assessments and interventions relevant to a paediatric client group.
  • Experience working with an outpatient caseload with varying conditions and diagnoses.
  • A comprehensive paediatric background and hospital setting experience is a must.
