The Community Safety Manager will be able to deliver a person-centred approach to handling anti-social behaviour and tenancy breaches in our community through mediation and excellent case management. You will manage a caseload where legal interventions are required, so you will have a good working relationship with several of our internal and external partners in getting a positive resolution to cases as well as good working knowledge of housing and anti-social behaviour legislation. The Community Safety Manager is a professional role and we’re looking for someone willing to commit to the position and the ever-changing landscape of housing management. As a Community Safety Manager, you will:
- Proactively work to understand the needs of customers and the safeguarding and vulnerabilities that may arise whilst delivering the job.
- Manage and prepare cases for court proceedings and update regularly on their position as well as being a leading officer regarding high level ASB.
- Work closely with customers to develop strong relationships with local communities, and positive and collaborative relationships with key agencies and internal teams.
- Work with other teams and stakeholders to really help customers be involved in our service delivery.
- Manage ASB cases, supporting victims and seeking enforcement remedies where appropriate. Negotiate and mediate low level neighbour disputes.
The successful Community Safety Manager will have:
- Experience in a Housing Management environment within Social Housing or similar transferable skills.
- Experience of working with customers from diverse backgrounds tackling complex issues housing and similar related.
- Ability to communicate effectively and adapt style to meet the needs of recipient.
- Ability to meet deadlines and to monitor & manage performance.
- A commitment to building a strong, high performing team.
- Ability to handle challenging situations and able to think on your feet.
- Ability to represent the organization in all settings and act as an ambassador.
- Experience of managing cases of anti-social behaviour through to court.
- Good knowledge of legislation surrounding tenancy management and ASB.
