Purpose of the role: Responsible for buying a range of products at the most competitive prices, to enable ESL to operate and increase profits. Duties include purchase order entry, supply chain tracking, and stock management. The role involves interaction with internal staff to support supplier and new market development, as well as stock delivery scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Buying a range of products from established suppliers, negotiating deals as necessary.
- Coordinating requests for new brands.
- Identifying new suppliers.
- Forecasting levels of demand for stock items and ensuring minimum stock levels are maintained.
- Producing management information reports (Weekly/monthly).
- Identifying overstocked items, preparing offers and promotions.
- Processing supplier offers.
- Managing cancellations.
- Updating system information (working to daily targets).
- Order processing and administration.
- Shipping & Import Tracking & Management.
- Liaising with Vendor Supply Chain.
- Supporting Warehouse with booking in & out.
- Supporting Warehouse with internal stock transfers.
- Price list administration.
- Answering incoming calls and taking appropriate action.
- Creating and sending pro-active offers.
- Chasing suppliers for expected due date of goods.
- Pricing requests from suppliers.
- Team cover in times of absence (variety of tasks).
Essential Requirements / Experience:
- Excellent communication skills (telephone and email).
- Strong PC Skills in all Microsoft packages.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Accurate data entry and attention to detail.
Location: Head Office, Manchester (Short walk from Manchester Victoria train station)
