This is an opportunity to join The PIE at a pivotal stage of growth - to shape marketing strategy, lead a talented team, and make a measurable impact on our global audience and commercial success of the company.

Role Overview

As Commercial Marketing Manager (Events & Growth), you’ll lead The PIE’s marketing team through an exciting phase of expansion. You’ll take full ownership of global marketing campaigns, driving performance across events, sponsorships, and audience engagement.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role: leading a small, high-performing team while actively delivering campaigns yourself. You’ll collaborate with internal Events, Sales, Editorial, and Talent teams to deliver innovative, data-driven campaigns that achieve tangible results - from ticket sales and top-of-funnel sponsorship leads to delegate growth and brand visibility.

Key Responsibilities

Essential/Core Priorities

Lead & Execute Global Events Marketing

  • Own the marketing strategy and execution for all PIE events, media, and recruitment services, from planning to post-event analysis.
  • Create compelling event websites using Cvent and Evessio, ensuring they effectively showcase each event’s value, drive registrations, and deliver an engaging user experience.
  • Translate commercial goals into measurable outcomes (ticket sales, sponsorship leads, delegate growth).
  • Design and deliver multi-channel campaign plans across global markets (content, email, social, and digital).
  • Collaborate across internal teams to ensure messaging is consistent, creative, and on-brand.

Project Management & Team Leadership

  • Act as the link between senior leadership and the marketing team.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Prioritise global projects effectively, balancing quick wins with long-term growth initiatives.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop direct reports, fostering structure, clarity, and proactive delivery.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and external suppliers/agencies to ensure effective delivery.

Commercial & Analytical Focus

  • Track, report, and optimise campaign performance and ROI.
  • Create and continually enhance HubSpot workflows, sequences, automation, and segmentation to drive efficiency.
  • Use analytics from GA, HubSpot, and social/email performance to refine strategy and improve conversion.
  • Work closely with sales, editorial, events, and other product teams to align marketing activity with business goals.

Desirable/Growth Priorities

Creative Oversight & Brand Consistency

  • Review and approve campaign visuals, mailers, and on-site event assets for brand and creative excellence.
  • Provide feedback and sign-off to maintain high standards across all channels, ensuring brand consistency and quality across all communications.
  • Stay current with marketing tools and trends, proactively introducing new ideas and approaches.

Innovation & Optimisation

  • Experiment with PPC/paid media, agency management, or brand storytelling where relevant.
  • Build advanced automation and analytics capabilities in HubSpot.
  • Introduce creative storytelling and content marketing opportunities to strengthen global brand positioning.

The Ideal Candidate

You may currently be working as a Senior Marketing Executive or Marketing Manager and are now ready to take the next step - leading campaigns, managing a small team, and shaping strategy in a fast-growing international company.

Essential

  • 3-5 years’ proven experience in events marketing, B2B marketing, or media/publishing.
  • Experience leading and developing a small, high-performing team.
  • Hands-on and ambitious - comfortable rolling up your sleeves while leading from the front.
  • Commercially minded, with a track record of turning marketing activity into measurable ROI.
  • Strong communicator with influence at all levels; excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Organised and confident managing multiple global projects.
  • Skilled in HubSpot (automation, workflows, sequences) and analytics tools (GA, email, social).
  • Calm, resilient, and adaptable in a fast-moving environment.

Desirable

  • Creative eye for visuals, brand, and messaging, with strong copywriting and editing ability.
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a global, cross-cultural context.
  • Experience with PPC/paid media, agency management, international events, or brand storytelling.
  • Creative thinker with a proactive approach to innovation.

Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive salary + performance-based bonus potential.
  • Flexible hybrid working (minimum one day/week in London).
  • Opportunity to lead a talented team and shape global marketing strategy.

  • A natural next step for an ambitious marketing professional eager to grow into a senior leadership role, with support from senior leadership, autonomy, and global exposure.
  • Be part of a high-growth global company making an impact in international education.
  • Lead high-visibility campaigns that drive revenue, engagement, and brand growth.
