Our client, a long-standing law firm, is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team in Boston!
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a primary support to attorneys in managing litigation practices and client service.
- Develop strong knowledge of attorneys’ clients and legal practices.
- Proactively handle administrative duties (e.g., calendaring, conflict checks, communications).
- Oversee attorneys’ calendars and diaries for accurate timekeeping.
- Manage expense reimbursements and invoice submissions.
- Build strong relationships with firm staff and vendors to leverage internal resources.
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
- Support trial, hearing, and deposition preparations.
- Organize and maintain legal files (e.g., filing, scanning, indexing).
- Coordinate meetings, court appearances, and appointments.
- Maintain updated case files and manage legal databases.
- Communicate with clients, courts, vendors, witnesses, and opposing counsel.
- Assist with billing processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required).
- 5–8 years of litigation legal administrative experience preferred.
- Proficient in State and Federal ECF filings; familiar with PACER and CourtAlert.
- Knowledge of Westlaw and court/agency filing rules and procedures.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), iManage or equivalent systems.
- Strong understanding of PDF software (Kofax, Adobe).
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
- Professional, proactive, adaptable, and dependable.
- Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed.
