Phoenix is looking for an experienced and talented Learning Support Practitioner to join our team of dedicated, hard-working colleagues, contributing to an established culture of supporting students with additional needs and raising standards, expectations and achievement.
The post holder will:
- Take an active role in improving students’ skills, promoting independence and self-esteem and supporting their integration into the mainstream.
- Conduct screenings and testing with students, creating bespoke programmes for individuals and small groups and ensuring that interventions and resources are appropriate, challenging and engaging.
- Develop and deliver student interventions, including EAL interventions through the Flash Academy platform, creating bespoke programmes for individuals and small groups, ensuring that appropriate support is provided to improve attainment in reading, writing and speaking for EAL students.
- Assess, record and report on students’ progress working closely with teachers and other professionals and providing specialist knowledge and advice.
Candidates should have attained GCSE grade 4 or above (or an equivalent qualification) as a minimum and either Teaching Assistant Level 4 qualification or at least 2 years’ significant experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant at Level 3 within an Education setting – ideally at secondary level.
Phoenix is committed to the protection and safety of its students. An enhanced DBS will be required before commencement in the post, together with a Social Media check, in accordance with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ statutory guidance. The post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for this role.
