We are delighted to be able to offer an excellent opportunity for a Remote-based Pharmacy Technician to join our expanding team! Due to continued company growth and our developing partnerships with numerous Primary Care Networks (PCNs) across the UK, we are seeking a motivated and dedicated Registered Pharmacy Technician to help deliver outstanding care and support within general practice settings. The successful candidate will adhere to all relevant safety and clinical governance guidelines while continuously upholding the core values of a pharmacy technician profession and maintaining a strong focus on best practice.

Our workforce of over 250 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians is supported by an experienced senior clinical team who facilitate training, development and workflow management across primary care and PCN settings.
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will have successfully completed the CPPE pathway or currently be enrolled. In your day-to-day role, you will help ensure the smooth running of general practice by providing expert clinical support and advice to patients, promoting the safe and effective use of medicines, and consistently working within the competencies of your role, with active support from an experienced senior TPN team member and the wider Pharmacy Technician team.

This is an evolving role with continuous scope for development as we expand our pharmacy technician team.
Job Duties:
- Medication Reconciliation of clinical letters and Hospital Discharge Summaries
- Medicine Management including prescription screening and processing
- Supporting with the ‘Repeat Dispending’ process
- Responding and communicating to patient related medication queries
- Coordinating with local pharmacies to manage stock levels and shortages
- Medication synchronisation in line with regular repeat prescription
- To oversee medication recall processes, ensuring timely responses and compliance. (e.g BP, blood tests, annual reviews)
- Doac Monitoring
- Prescribing audits in house, plus those associated with CQC/QOF or local incentive schemes as set by the Prescribing Team/ICB (training can be provided)
- Reviewing existing and new Shared Care Protocols and acting on them appropriately
- To action medicines safety alerts from CAS/MHRA/ICB
- To complete Level 1 and 2 Medication reviews (training can be given)
- Assisting with Pre-SMR (Structure Medication Review) Screening (training can be given)
- Create and run reports within the practice clinical systems to identify/stratify patients for review
About you
Qualifications:
- BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences
- Hold a Professional registration with GPhC
- Completion of the CPPE Primary Care pathway with proven certification, or to actively be enrolled
- A minimum of 6 months experience working within a general practice/Primary care setting
- Evidence of continued professional development (CPD)
Skills and experience:
- Proficient experience with EMIS or System 1, some training can be given
- Have a stable Internet connection /WIFI at all times during working hours
- Strong understanding of medication management, dispensing processes, and patient safety protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and external partners
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and ensure compliance with clinical governance
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to all relevant safety and professional guidelines.
