We support the training, development and workflow management of the pharmacy. The Pharmacist Network is a pharmacist-led organisation providing high-quality pharmacist and pharmacy technician services to general practices nationwide. We are committed to delivering patient-centred care and fostering a culture of positivity, transparency and excellence. Our workforce of over 250 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians is supported by an experienced senior clinical team who facilitate training, development and workflow management across primary care and PCN settings.

Job responsibilities

  • Act within professional boundaries, supporting and working alongside a team of pharmacists and GPs.
  • Help resolve medication‑related issues.
  • Utilise skill mix.
  • Improve patient outcomes and ensure better access to healthcare.
  • Support practice staff with prescription and medication queries.
  • Provide expert advice in clinical medicines.
  • Deliver clinical leadership on medicines optimisation and quality improvement.
  • Manage and monitor drug administration.
  • Ensure proper and efficient use of medication.
  • Educate patients on medication and disease prevention.
  • Create and follow clinical pharmacy programme according to practice policy.
  • Work Monday to Friday with a 37.5 hour working week.

Previous primary care experience and being proficient with EMIS or System 1 is preferred, although as this role is onsite, training can be provided.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 months experience of working within general practice is desired but not essential, as training can be provided.
  • A relevant degree/qualification to show you are registered pharmacy technician with GHPC is essential.
  • Completed the CPPE Pathway.
  • Has IP Qualification.

Experience

  • Experience with EMIS or System 1 is desired but not essential as training can be provided.
  • Completed the CPPE Pathway.
  • Has IP Qualification.
