Postdoctoral Researcher In Synthetic Biology and Evolution in Oxford

Postdoctoral Researcher In Synthetic Biology and Evolution in Oxford

Oxford Full-Time On-site
The Phage

The Liu Lab for Synthetic Evolution, led by Principal Investigator Chang C. Liu, investigates how biological sequence determines function and how evolution and machine learning can be used to design new biological systems.

The group developed orthogonal DNA replication (OrthoRep), a technology that enables the accelerated evolution of selected genes inside living cells.

Current research areas include antibody engineering, enzyme design, mapping relationships between biological sequences and their functions, and understanding how new gene functions emerge through evolution.

The lab is seeking creative and motivated postdoctoral researchers to contribute to these research programmes and develop new ideas in synthetic biology and evolutionary engineering.

he Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) aims to translate scientific discoveries into practical solutions to global challenges. Its research spans health and medical science, generative biology, sustainable agriculture, climate change, artificial intelligence and robotics.

The Generative Biology Institute, led by Founding Director Jason Chin, focuses on developing technologies that make biology easier to engineer and enable the design of biological systems with useful functions.
