Who are we?
We are PHA, a leading integrated comms agency with offices in London, Manchester, Leeds and Boston. Founded in 2005 by our Chairman and former newspaper editor Phil Hall, we have evolved to offer public relations, creative activations, social media, and digital marketing services to our enviable client roster. We are now looking for a passionate, ambitious, and entrepreneurial Account Executive to join our growing Corporate team. You can expect to support clients working across the following sectors; B2B healthcare, legal (family, private wealth, land, corporate law & major litigation/class actions), sustainability, cleantech & energy, and professional services – with opportunities to work on integrated digital, reputation and creative briefs across the wider agency too.
What you will be doing?
- Client responsibilities:
- Regular delivery of high-quality coverage for accounts across national, trade and broadcast media.
- Develop writing skills that benefit clients, either through coverage delivery or other client facing written work – such as longform articles and media responses.
- Share regular results reports and data with clients to showcase success and demonstrate impact.
- Proactively ensure client-facing documents are accurate and up to date, such as WIP documents, coverage logs, reports, etc.
- Own sections on regular clients calls, prepare agendas, and accurately document and circulate actions.
- Start to build a relationship with clients under the supervision of the account lead.
- Start to develop upward management skills, communicating successes and flagging challenges to Account Managers and colleagues at the earliest opportunity.
- Provide ad hoc support to colleagues across multiple departments as needed for creative, digital and communications work and ideation – bringing an ambitious can-do attitude!
- Industry knowledge:
- Develop a broad understanding of your industry e.g., the media landscape, including national newspapers, broadcast channels, relevant trade media outlets, social media channels, and digital marketing tools.
- Shadow senior colleagues at media meetings to start to learn skills around building contacts and media relationships.
- Start building your ‘book of contacts’ by arranging regular meetings with journalists, influencers, and other key figures relevant to your sector, converting meetings into opportunities for clients.
- Agency responsibilities:
- Participate in agencywide activities and initiatives to build relationships with colleagues, to include All-Staff training, social events, agency culture/charity committees and internal seminars relevant to level.
- Regularly attend role-specific training organised through the PHA Academy.
- Growth:
- Start to contribute on an ad hoc basis to new business campaigns through research, by identifying brands and businesses that could benefit from the department’s services, and helping build impactful materials.
