We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Insurance Administrator to join our Central Support team on a part‑time basis. This is a key role supporting the end‑to‑end processing of insurance claims, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and outstanding customer service. This role will be based at our Rotherham Central Support Unit and the hours are Saturday and Sunday 9:00am-3:00pm.
In addition to claims administration, you will also be responsible for handling overflow telephone calls from surgeries during your working hours, providing professional and timely support to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Process and manage insurance claims in line with internal procedures and compliance standards
- Liaise with insurance companies and customers regarding direct and non-direct claims
- Conduct policy checks and submit pre-authorisations for pending treatment
- Maintain accurate claims and payment trackers, always ensuring data integrity
- Monitor and manage outstanding insurance debt and support timely payment resolution
- Update and reconcile customer accounts following insurer payments
- Take overflow calls from surgeries, handling customer queries professionally and efficiently
- Respond to customer queries relating to insurance claims via phone and email
- Proactively contact customers regarding claim progress and updates
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure smooth operational workflow
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as required
- Strong administrative and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident telephone manner and experience handling inbound calls in a busy environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Experience in insurance administration, claims processing, or finance/admin roles (preferred)
- Strong numeracy and ability to manage financial/admin trackers accurately
- Competent IT skills including spreadsheets and digital systems
