  • Monday and Friday - 15:30 - 18:30
  • Wednesday - 16:00 - 18:30
  • Saturday and Sunday - 09:00 - 12:00

We are looking for cover and regular weekly swim helpers; as the learn to swim programme grows, we will be expanding the swimming lesson hours. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years to apply.

Job Purpose

To assist the Swim Teacher in delivering high quality swimming lessons by supporting learners in the water, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment for all learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective assistance to swimming lessons in line with guidance from a Swimming Teacher.
  • Carry out instructions given from the Swimming Teachers safely and accurately.
  • Maintain the high standards held within the swim school at all times.
  • Provide a welcoming and pleasant class atmosphere to all pupils in lessons.
  • Interact with all children in your class in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Support Swim Teachers by organising the learners, relaying instructions clearly and ensuring they remain focussed.
  • Assist learners in the water helping them with confidence building, floating and basic swimming techniques.
  • Set up and tidy away equipment before and after lessons.
  • Be aware of and follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Follow all child protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Wear uniform provided and be well presented at all times.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.
