We are looking for cover and regular weekly swim helpers; as the learn to swim programme grows, we will be expanding the swimming lesson hours. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years to apply.
Job Purpose
To assist the Swim Teacher in delivering high quality swimming lessons by supporting learners in the water, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment for all learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective assistance to swimming lessons in line with guidance from a Swimming Teacher.
- Carry out instructions given from the Swimming Teachers safely and accurately.
- Maintain the high standards held within the swim school at all times.
- Provide a welcoming and pleasant class atmosphere to all pupils in lessons.
- Interact with all children in your class in a friendly and positive manner.
- Support Swim Teachers by organising the learners, relaying instructions clearly and ensuring they remain focused.
- Assist learners in the water helping them with confidence building, floating and basic swimming techniques.
- Set up and tidy away equipment before and after lessons.
- Be aware of and follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Be aware of and follow all child protection and safeguarding policies.
- Wear uniform provided and be well presented at all times.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.
