REGIONAL PEOPLE PARTNER | MIDLANDS/NORTH
We’re looking for a fantastic and inspirational People Partner to join our People team and play a key role in supporting our Area Managers and Store Managers, helping them grow their people skills and capability.
You’ll work with the Store Managers to build their people skills, attend Operations meetings to understand any issues and challenges, and work with our People Manager Retail to make sure talent plans are regularly reviewed with Managers.
This role is based within Region 1 which includes Stores across Midlands, Wales, North of England, Scotland. Regular travel (3 days per week) is expected to all Stores within the Region to conduct the role, and, to Head Office in High Wycombe around twice per month.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Spend time with each Store (in the assigned Region) to work with the Store Managers to build their people skills through facilitation, guidance, training and coaching where required on topics such as Disciplinary and Grievance, Absence, Performance Management, and Probation Reviews.
- Attend Operations meetings to understand key issues and challenges to ensure that solutions can be provided by the wider people team.
- Partner with the Talent Team to understand gaps so that vacancies are filled in a timely manner, especially ahead of peak trading periods.
- Support and manage complex ER cases with Line Managers to minimise risk and ensure a commercial approach, including Disciplinary and Grievance Hearings, LTS and Flexible Working, to provide advice and guidance to ensure legal compliance and correct processes are followed.
- Work with the People Manager – Retail, to manage organisational changes, including store closures, redundancies and TUPE transfers.
- Champion employee engagement and work closely with Area Managers to ensure engagement results are reviewed and are a key focus.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- CIPD qualified to a minimum Level 5 and keen to continue professional studies.
- You want to be in a role where you can drive change and make a difference to our Store Teams, you’ll have previous experience in a similar role or are looking for your next step from a HR Advisor role.
- Experience having advised and coached line managers, and an up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation.
- Knowledge of core partnering activities including performance management, employee engagement, talent, and succession planning.
- You’ll have a commercial outlook, analytical skills, and fantastic attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence is essential as the role is regionally based and regular travel included.
