We’re looking for a fantastic Senior Buyer to join our Buying team at Head Office and play a key role in driving commercial performance, supplier relationships and category growth. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast‑paced retail environment, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to maximise revenue opportunities, deliver against business KPIs and bring exciting newness to our customers.
What you’ll do
- Build and deliver Joint Business Plans with key suppliers, ensuring a customer-first approach aligned to commercial KPIs
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, driving revenue growth and maximising opportunities
- Work closely with Merchandising to optimise range management and stock levels
- Identify and secure new and exclusive product opportunities to create a competitive point of difference
- Collaborate cross-functionally to maximise all sales opportunities across the business
- Lead and support Buying projects, taking ownership where required
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity, sharing insights with stakeholders
- Produce accurate monthly and ad-hoc reporting to support decision-making
- Support the Head of Buying and step into leadership responsibilities when required
- Lead, coach and develop team members, setting clear objectives and supporting their growth
- Champion sustainability initiatives across all areas of influence
- Ensure compliance with all trading and competition laws and internal processes
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience at Buyer or Senior Buyer level within a fast-paced retail or FMCG environment
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering results against targets
- Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiations at a high level
- Leadership experience, with the ability to develop and motivate a team
- Knowledge of the retail landscape and key competitors
- Experience managing a product category or working within a branded buying environment
