We are currently recruiting for an experienced Damp & Mould Surveyor to join a busy small practice. This is a key role focused on the inspection, diagnosis, and resolution of damp, mould, and condensation issues across residential properties. You will play a vital role in ensuring homes are safe, compliant, and meet housing standards, while delivering a high-quality, resident-focused service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed inspections of residential properties to identify and diagnose causes of damp, mould, and condensation.
  • Survey properties and produce clear, accurate reports with recommended remedial actions.
  • Specify remedial works and liaise with contractors to ensure appropriate solutions are delivered.
  • Monitor works on site to ensure they are completed to specification, on time, and within budget.
  • Ensure all works and recommendations comply with health & safety regulations and housing legislation.
  • Liaise with residents, providing clear communication, technical advice, and managing expectations.
  • Work closely with teams and contractors.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and case documentation.
  • Support disrepair and environmental health cases where required.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Damp & Mould / Disrepair / Building Maintenance Surveyor role.
  • Must be PCA qualified or at Finalist stage. CSTDB level 3 qualified.
  • Sound technical knowledge of damp, mould, condensation, and building pathology.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety compliance.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively.

You will be allocated work to attend across Home Counties or North or North West London to conduct the surveys, produce the reports and hand to the Director of the specialist damp-proofing and timber treatment company. My client has 20 years unblemished experience in this field. The reason for the recruitment is due to the company being very busy and part of the company’s expansion and may in time become a full-time role.
