Who Are We? Percy Hedley is one of the North East’s largest charities, providing care, education and support to over 1,000 disabled children, young people and adults every year. The Role (Up to £35,000) We are looking for a proactive and target-driven individual with a proven track record in securing a wide range of donations from Trusts and Foundations. You will have experience of developing and managing a portfolio of prospects and existing donors and will be skilled in writing compelling and tailored proposals for funders. The successful candidate will also be well versed in building and developing relationships with grant givers, ensuring outstanding supporter care and stewardship at all times. Main Duties:

  • Achieve agreed income and expenditure targets for trust income in line with the Percy Hedley Fundraising and Engagement Strategy.
  • Research and identify potential new funders, creating pipelines for engagement and applications.
  • Create compelling written and verbal cases for support and bespoke proposals for potential funders.
  • Work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Engagement to approach appropriate trusts and foundations for support.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing funders, including creating individual stewardship programmes and delivering excellent customer care at all times.
  • Deliver timely, accurate and engaging updates/reports to external funders and provide regular internal updates of income and forecasting.
  • Work closely with Percy Hedley staff to understand funding needs for our varied services across the Foundation.
  • Work closely with Finance and service leads to ensure trusts and foundation grants cover as much of the capital expenditure programme as possible.
  • Work closely with the Fundraising Team and Marketing Team to ensure all opportunities to develop further support for Percy Hedley are taken.
  • To support fundraising activities whenever possible particularly larger events when all team members may need to be involved.
  • Ensure donor and financial records are accurate, up to date, and comply with all appropriate legislation.
