Who Are We? The Percy Hedley Foundation is one of the largest regional charities supporting people with a range of learning and physical needs. We take a person centred, flexible approach to the care and support we provide. We have five sites providing specialist education, adult day services, residential care and independent supported living to our service users. Our sites are based in Forest Hall, Killingworth, Jesmond, Newcastle City Centre and North Shields. Our dynamic and flexible service is tailored to the specific needs of the individual, making it easier to live, learn and be part of a world adapting to change.

The Role Please note we do not offer sponsorship, applicants must have the right to work in the UK. We are looking to appoint a Senior Support Worker on a temporary basis for 12 months to join the Independent Supported Living team and provide excellent support. You will support the Registered Manager in delivering exceptional, person-centred care, creating a safe, empowering, and uplifting environment for adults with physical and/or learning disabilities, while proudly meeting CQC guidance and legislative standards. You will be required to lead shifts, providing support and supervision to Support Workers, helping them grow, reflect, and perform at their best.

Our Independent Supported Living schemes are home for individuals with learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities who require support with everyday living tasks, cooking, cleaning, organising social activities, support to health appointments and to live as independently as possible. Our Independent Living includes one service with 10 bungalows and one three bedroom house shared by two individuals.

You will need to be enthusiastic, with a positive outlook on life and a real desire to help people achieve their goals and reach their full potential. A great team player, who is flexible, organised and has the skills to work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the people we support receive the highest level of care is required. Being able to adapt and respond to evolving situations with a person-centred approach is essential for an independent living scheme.

As this is a 24/7 service you must be fully flexible to work across days and occasional nights.
