A fast-growing construction business is looking to hire an Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day running of a newly built in-house finance function. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their finance career who wants exposure, development and the chance to grow in a fast-moving, commercial environment.
You'll work closely with the Finance Manager and wider team, supporting core processing, reconciliations, supplier management and month-end tasks. This role suits someone organised, accurate and proactive, who enjoys being part of a business that's scaling quickly.
Responsibilities:- Process invoices - Accurate processing and coding of purchase invoices
- Supplier queries - Handling supplier queries and maintaining strong relationships
- Bank reconciliations - Completing bank recs and supporting cash visibility
- Payment runs - Assisting with weekly payment runs
- Data entry - Maintaining accurate financial records and system data
- Month-end support - Helping with journals, accruals and month-end close
- Admin support - General finance administration and filing
- Process improvement - Supporting improvements to systems and processes
- Early-career finance professional or Accounts Assistant
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good Excel skills
- Organised, proactive and eager to learn
- Ability to work at pace in a growing business
- Construction or project-based experience beneficial but not essential
