This role offers the chance to contribute to technically complex programmes within nuclear and defence environments, working as part of a collaborative and experienced engineering team.

Key Duties

  • Develop and deliver engineering designs aligned with client and project requirements
  • Create and maintain 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software
  • Review, adapt and improve existing designs to enhance performance and manufacturability
  • Ensure all work adheres to relevant industry standards, safety requirements and best practice
  • Work closely with internal teams to bring concepts through to completion
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to less experienced team members
  • Communicate design intent and solutions clearly to stakeholders

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in a senior-level design engineering or similar role
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering and the ability to work closely with the mechanical engineering team
  • Appreciate the manufacturing considerations within the design process
  • Experience working in regulated industries (e.g. nuclear, defence, aerospace or similar) is advantageous
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as Siemens NX (or comparable systems)
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
  • Relevant engineering qualification (degree or equivalent experience)
  • Working knowledge of applicable safety and compliance standards
