Due to significant investment and long-term programme growth, we're looking for experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineers, with strong Siemens NX skills and a background in tooling, fixtures, jigs, lifting equipment or precision mechanical systems. Here, you will be joining a powerhouse of the engineering world, working with a talented, multi-disciplinary engineering team, and the chance to collaborate on cutting-edge, meaningful UK programmes with long-term career potential.
Key Responsibilities
- 3D modelling and 2D detailing in Siemens NX
- Managing design data via Teamcenter (PLM)
- Full lifecycle tooling design: requirements concept DfM release
- Producing assemblies, sub-assemblies, BOMs and detailed drawings
- Applying GD&T to ASME Y14.5 / BS standards
- Supporting gated design reviews and client presentations
- Ensuring compliance with safety legislation and UKCA requirements
What You'll Bring
Essential:
- Strong Siemens NX (3D + 2D)
- Proven tooling / jigs / fixtures / lifting equipment design experience
- Teamcenter or similar PLM experience
- Solid DfM understanding
- Confident with GD&T
Desirable:
- Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defence, heavy engineering, oil & gas
- FEA exposure (Abaqus, ANSYS, MathCAD or hand calcs)
- Manufacturing or toolmaker background
