The Quality & Environmental Manager will play a pivotal role in leading site quality assurance, laboratory operations, feed safety and environmental compliance. Acting as the technical authority on site, the role combines hands‑on scientific oversight with strategic leadership, driving a culture of proactive compliance, continuous improvement and environmental responsibility across manufacturing operations.
- Lead all site quality assurance, laboratory and environmental compliance activities
- Manage and develop QC laboratory operations, ensuring scientific integrity across microbiological, PCR and analytical testing
- Maintain and continuously improve integrated management systems aligned to ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, UFAS, FEMAS and FAMI‑QS
- Oversee non‑conforming product management, root cause investigations and CAPA implementation
- Manage site‑wide document control systems in line with quality and compliance policies
- Lead environmental management systems, ensuring compliance with permits, legislation and regulatory requirements
- Monitor and report on environmental KPIs, including energy, waste, water and emissions
- Drive environmental and sustainability initiatives focused on waste reduction, efficiency and continuous improvement
- Deliver technical training and capability development across quality, laboratory and environmental disciplines
Degree qualified in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. food science, microbiology, chemistry or similar). Proven experience in a quality leadership role within food, feed or FMCG manufacturing environments. Strong laboratory background with hands‑on experience in microbiology, PCR methods and aseptic techniques. Demonstrable experience managing ISO‑based management systems and regulatory audits. Working knowledge of environmental management systems, ideally ISO14001. Highly organised, detail‑focused and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, regulated environment. A proactive problem solver with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and sustainability.
