We are working with an International food manufacturer based all across the UK who are searching for a Purchasing Coordinator to join their purchasing department. Overview The Purchasing Coordinator supports the Purchasing Manager with the management of stock into their factory and warehouse as well as building strong relationships with suppliers, planning and executing purchasing strategies, working closely with their Operations teams and ensuring service commitments to their customers are kept. In addition, the Buyer will have the opportunity to contribute with other projects under the guidance of the Purchasing Manager. Responsibilities • Research, select, sample request and purchase quality products, materials and services within budget • Retail packaging, liaise with the marketing team regarding any packaging changes • Where required, attend supplier meetings and visit other sites & suppliers as needed • Work in conjunction with QA team to ensure compliance to product specification and standard procurement terms and conditions • Communicate effectively with external suppliers to develop professional relationships • Continuous comparison and negotiation of suppliers and contractors to include price checks to get the best price possible • Support the Purchasing Manager with managing our: o PRN obligations o Carbon reduction projects o Insurance needs o Utilities requirements and relationships o Mobile phone contract o …
