Our client, a leading international organisation within the food ingredients and FMCG sector, is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Outbound Logistics Manager to oversee European distribution activities and drive logistics performance across multiple markets. This is an excellent opportunity for a logistics professional looking to take ownership of a complex international supply chain operation within a growing business. Offering a salary of up to €5,500 per month, this role is based in the Netherlands and will play a key role in ensuring products are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with customer expectations.

Job Role

Reporting into the Supply Chain leadership team, the Outbound Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing outbound logistics operations across Europe, ensuring high service levels, strong carrier performance, and efficient transport execution. You will work closely with warehousing, sales, procurement, and finance teams to support business growth while driving continuous improvement across logistics processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and execution of outbound shipments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to customers.
  • Drive OTIF (On Time In Full) performance through effective transport planning and carrier management.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics partners to ensure orders are picked, consolidated, and dispatched efficiently.
  • Monitor shipments and proactively manage delivery issues, delays, shortages, and customer communications.
  • Optimise transport routes and shipment consolidation to improve service levels and reduce costs.
  • Manage customer-specific delivery requirements and logistics compliance across multiple European markets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transport providers.
  • Negotiate rates and service agreements with logistics partners to maximise value and performance.
  • Monitor logistics KPIs, including delivery performance, transport costs, and service quality metrics.
  • Support international transport activities, customs documentation, and cross-border logistics requirements.
  • Develop and implement logistics procedures and best practices to improve operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement across transport and warehousing operations.
  • Collaborate closely with Procurement, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to support customer demand and business objectives.
  • Provide logistics support for new product launches and strategic business initiatives.

Personal Profile

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within logistics, transport, or supply chain management, ideally within FMCG or food-related industries.
  • Strong understanding of European transport networks, international logistics, and customs processes.
  • Proven experience managing third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, and transport partners.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational improvement.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to balance service, cost, and efficiency objectives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in logistics systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
