Our client, a respected and growing organisation within the food sector, is seeking a driven and commercially minded New Business Development Manager to support an exciting period of expansion. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an energetic, proactive individual to take ownership of identifying and securing new business opportunities while building long-term, strategic client relationships.

Based in Hayes with field-based activity, the New Business Development Manager will focus on generating leads, identifying potential clients, and expanding the company’s customer base. Reporting to senior management, you will manage the full sales cycle—from prospecting and pitching to closing deals and onboarding new accounts. This role is pivotal in supporting the company’s growth strategy within the food sector.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through market research, networking, strategic outreach, and field visits.
  • Generate leads and target potential clients, effectively presenting the company’s ready meals, hot meals, and chilled product range (sandwiches, salads, pasta, noodles).
  • Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients and key decision makers.
  • Develop and deliver compelling, tailored sales presentations and proposals.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, including negotiation and contract closure, to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, operations, and customer support teams to ensure seamless onboarding and long-term client satisfaction.
  • Track, manage, and report CRM pipeline activity, key metrics, and revenue forecasts.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and evolving market dynamics.

Personal Profile

  • Proven experience in new business development, lead generation, and account management.
  • Experience in sales within the food industry is essential.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Confident presenting to clients and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in sales presentations and CRM tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
