Job Role
Reporting to the Production Shift Co‑ordinator, the Senior Production Operative will play a key role in ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Acting as a senior figure on shift, you will support production teams, maintain compliance standards, and contribute to continuous improvement across the operation. This role is ideal for an experienced production operative looking to develop leadership skills within a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate across multiple production areas with a high level of competence.
- Set up, run, and shut down production lines efficiently and correctly.
- Ensure production targets, quality standards, and deadlines are consistently achieved.
- Carry out food safety, quality, and compliance checks in line with SALSA/BRC standards.
- Complete and maintain accurate production and compliance records.
- Support audit preparation and maintain high standards of hygiene and traceability.
- Troubleshoot basic operational issues and escape where required.
- Minimise waste and support efficient use of materials and labour.
- Promote a strong health & safety culture across the production environment.
- Support and guide Production Operatives during shifts.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
- Take on additional leadership responsibilities as experience develops.
Personal Profile
- 2–3 years’ experience within a food production or manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (SALSA/BRC desirable).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Proactive and reliable with a willingness to take on responsibility.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic problem‑solving ability with a hands‑on approach.
- Keen to develop leadership and supervisory skills.
