Love food? Know how to build great customer relationships? Ready to take ownership of a national customer portfolio? We're working with an established food importer and distributor that has built an outstanding reputation for quality, service and reliability. As the business continues to grow, they’re looking to appoint an ambitious National Account Manager to develop existing customer relationships while identifying new commercial opportunities across Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands the food industry and enjoys being out with customers.

This is a highly autonomous position where you’ll manage a portfolio of established accounts while identifying opportunities to increase sales and develop new business. Working closely with customers, you’ll become a trusted commercial partner, understanding their challenges, recommending the right product solutions and helping them grow their own businesses. You’ll also work closely with internal purchasing, operations and logistics teams to ensure customers receive the exceptional service they’re accustomed to.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing and developing a portfolio of key food industry customers across Ireland.
  • Building long-term relationships through regular customer visits and commercial support.
  • Identifying opportunities to grow existing business and win new accounts.
  • Presenting tailored commercial proposals that deliver value for both customer and business.
  • Monitoring market activity, pricing and customer trends to identify new opportunities.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure outstanding customer service.
  • Preparing account plans, forecasts and sales reports.

About You

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • Have experience selling food products to wholesalers and distributors.
  • Enjoy developing long-term customer relationships rather than simply chasing orders.
  • Are commercially minded and confident negotiating at all levels.
  • Can manage their own diary and work independently.
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Hold a full driving licence and are happy travelling throughout Ireland.
  • Must be based in Ireland, with full right to work, and be able to travel to Dublin regularly.

We’d be especially interested in hearing from you if you’ve previously worked as a chef and have since built a successful career in food sales. Your product knowledge, commercial awareness and understanding of customers’ needs could make you an excellent fit for this role.

If you’re passionate about food, enjoy building lasting customer relationships and are looking for your next commercial challenge, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today or contact Lisa Fox for a confidential conversation.
