About the Role
We\’re looking for a creative and skilled Bakery Development Chef to lead the development of innovative, high-quality bakery products. You\’ll be responsible for taking ideas from concept through to launch, ensuring products meet quality, consistency, and commercial standards.
Working closely with the NPD, Production, Technical, and Quality teams, you’ll manage trials, support factory handovers, source new ingredients, and train staff on new processes. You’ll also benchmark products, drive continuous improvement, and help maintain compliance with food safety and BRC standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and present new bakery concepts
· Manage kitchen and factory trials, product handovers, and launches
· Support product costing, spec creation, and shelf-life testing
· Source new ingredients and support process improvements
· Train and support bakery team members
· Collaborate across departments to deliver projects on time
Requirements
· Experience in bakery product development (factory or commercial kitchen)
· Strong understanding of bakery processes and ingredients
· Creative, detail-oriented, and commercially aware
· Excellent communication and project management skills
· Knowledge of BRC and food safety standards
