The Role:
The business seeks a highly talented flavourist to join their dynamic R&D and commercial team. This is a newly created hybrid position that combines the creativity of a flavourist with the strategic focus of a sales professional.
The successful candidate will be responsible for flavour creation to meet customer specifications and driving sales by providing technical expertise to business Food & Beverage clients. This position is ideal for a professional with a strong background in food science and flavour chemistry, paired with excellent communication skills who wants to embark on a potential career within commercial sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and develop flavours or modify existing ones to meet customer briefs.
  • Collaborate with R&D, product development, and marketing teams to ensure flavours align with consumer preferences and brand objectives.
  • Utilize the latest flavour technologies, raw material innovations, and sensory evaluation techniques.
  • Act as the technical expert for the sales team.
  • Conduct customer briefings to understand needs and deliver tailored flavour solutions.
  • Lead product presentations and demonstrations for clients.
  • Stay updated on global flavour trends, consumer preferences, and competitor offerings to guide innovative product development.

People Profile:

  • Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related fields.
  • Considerable experience in flavour creation, including experience within a client-facing or technical sales role.
  • Expertise in flavour formulation, raw material knowledge, sensory evaluation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with flavour-related technologies such as spray drying, powder blending, and fermentation.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills with a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
