Our client, is an international food manufacturer with sites all across the globe. They are searching for a Business Unit Manager at one of their sites in Bedfordshire.

Job Role
As Unit Manager, you will lead and manage the Bedfordshire site, taking full operational responsibility for performance and P&L delivery. You’ll ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Security, and Customs regulations while representing the business locally, adapting operations to align with the regional environment and culture.

You will build and guide a high-performing team, supporting development in partnership with HR and L&D, and serve as a mentor to your management team. With strong financial oversight, you\’ll set and manage budgets, align responsibilities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the unit.

Collaborating with your HR Business Partner, you’ll oversee salary reviews, recruitment, and workforce planning to maintain engagement, cost-efficiency, and competitive edge. You\’ll also lead root cause analysis and implement action plans, ensuring execution of company-wide policies and alignment with executive decisions and compliance standards.

Effective verbal and written communication skills in English,

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales, prioritising as appropriate

Proactive and positive/flexible attitude

A foundation degree, HND or degree in a relevant subject, Logistics, supply chain management, transport management, business management or suitable relevant experience and demonstrated appropriate level of acumen.
