Full-Time GDC Registered Dental Nurse

Location: Shipley, BD18

Hours: Full-Time (Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays as required)

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable GDC Registered Dental Nurse to join our private dental practice in Shipley. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a friendly and supportive team delivering high-quality patient care across a wide range of dental treatments.

The successful candidate will provide chairside support to clinicians, ensure the smooth running of surgeries and help deliver an outstanding experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide chairside assistance during general, restorative, cosmetic and surgical dental procedures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all equipment and instruments are ready for clinical use.
  • Maintain high standards of cross-infection prevention and decontamination in accordance with HTM 01-05 guidance.
  • Support patients before, during and after treatment, ensuring they feel comfortable and well informed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
  • Sterilise and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
  • Assist with stock management and ordering of clinical supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with GDC standards, CQC requirements, health and safety regulations and practice policies.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider clinical and reception team to ensure the efficient running of the practice.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Dental Nurse with a recognised dental nursing qualification.
  • Current GDC registration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Professional, caring and patient-focused approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control procedures.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in an NHS or mixed dental practice.
  • Dental Radiography qualification.
  • Experience using dental practice management software.
  • Valid CPR and safeguarding training.
