About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, professional and reliable Dental Nurse to join our busy dental practice in Huddersfield. This part-time role is ideal for a qualified dental nurse who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care and enjoys working as part of a supportive team. The successful candidate will provide chairside assistance to clinicians, support the smooth running of the practice and help ensure patients receive the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments and equipment are ready for use.
  • Maintain high standards of cross-infection control and decontamination in line with current regulations.
  • Support patients before, during and after treatment, ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Accurately maintain patient records and clinical notes.
  • Assist with stock control and ordering of clinical materials where required.
  • Ensure compliance with GDC standards, health and safety regulations and practice policies.
  • Work closely with dentists, hygienists and reception staff to support the efficient running of the practice.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Dental Nurse with a recognised dental nursing qualification.
  • Current GDC registration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, caring and patient-focused attitude.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Availability to work Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, with Saturday attendance being mandatory.

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience in an NHS or mixed dental practice.
  • Dental radiography qualification.
  • Familiarity with dental practice management software.
  • Up-to-date CPR and safeguarding training.
