Contract type: Fixed Term Contract: 6 Months

Location: Brighton: Hybrid (8 days per month in the office)

The role and responsibilities

  • Act as part of TPR's senior leadership team and contribute to the development of TPR.
  • Be a visible leader: setting a vision for the team, taking an interest in work across the team and hold individuals to account.
  • Be accountable for budget, KPIs, performance indicators and resource allocation.
  • Provides assurance to Exco, TPR board, including ARAC and DWP that policy is made robustly.
  • Deliver complex strategic and policy based regulatory projects to time, budget and quality.
  • Support the team to deliver, ensuring they have right frameworks, tools, processes and resources.

The role criteria

  • Experience of leading high performing policy teams.
  • Demonstrate experience of building strong internal and external relationships and ability to leverage these to deliver policy objectives.
  • Significant experience of delivering complex policy change within a government or similar regulatory policy-making environment, including complex delivery.
  • Ability to be decisive and provide direction.
  • Innovative, creative and bold in developing ideas and solutions for achieving our priorities.
  • Experience of leading change.

The team

We are looking for a leader with the ability to inspire and develop a diverse team, who will bring their exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to shape and deliver transformative pension policies that ensure long-term sustainability, fairness, and resilience that are at the forefront of TPR’s evolution and transformation, supporting the Director and executive committee to shape and lead the pensions regulatory agenda. The Pension Reform directorate is a new division of TPR responsible for supporting the development of the regulatory framework in savers’ interests and supporting evidence-based policy making which delivers good saver outcomes. It works within and leads multidisciplinary teams across TPR. The team works closely with our evidence and risk directorate to ensure our policy is evidence based, with our Digital and innovation teams to support flexibility, innovation and to advance our data strategy for TPR and savers; and with our market oversight and compliance and enforcement directorates to ensure our policies are rooted in practical implementation considerations and deliver impact.
