The role and responsibilities: this role is ideal for someone who:

The role criteria: We’re looking for an experienced risk, assurance and/or compliance specialist to deliver high quality second line assurance across the organisation. In this role, you will provide objective opinions on the effectiveness of controls, processes, and decision-making, and make practical recommendations that reduce risk and drive continuous improvement. You will work with senior managers and colleagues across the organisation, contributing to our assurance map and helping build capability through advice, training and clear reporting.

You will:

  • Confidently chair meetings with stakeholders through dynamic conversation to better understand the internal risk landscape.
  • Provide assurance expertise and advice to colleagues at all levels, making strong recommendations and gathering relevant information to overcome any challenge.
  • Plan and conduct reviews and assessments across the organisation, producing clear, high-quality reports that set out robust assurance findings for senior managers.
  • Identify weaknesses or risks in operational policies and procedures, recommending effective mitigations using solid problem-solving skills.
  • Link review outcomes to the TPR Assurance Map, providing a consistent view of the assurance landscape.
  • Draft reports and papers for the Executive Committee (ExCo), Board and Audit and Risk Assurance Committee (ARAC).

The team: The Enterprise Assurance team is an innovative and strategic thinking team that plays a central role in embedding the Three Lines Model within TPR, and provides confidence to Senior Management, ExCo and ARAC that assurance activities are complete and robust. Our work focuses on assessing the internal risk landscape and delivering evidence-based assurance across TPR’s operational and corporate functions. By identifying gaps in controls and driving continuous improvement through structured evaluations and proactive support, we help ensure the organisation is well-positioned to carry out its regulatory responsibilities.
