Location: Brighton: Hybrid (6 days per month in the office)
The Role And Responsibilities
To support governance of data and information and improvement in information management by researching and analysing information management practice within M365 applications and reporting periodically and as required to the relevant Data & Information Stewards and/or Data & Information Owner, Deputy Owner or Manager for their information, the M365 team for action on the platform, or DPC/the DPO or SIRO for risk escalation.
- Working with different roles and teams to understand information within systems and information in the business context.
- Identifying and communicating evidence or patterns of non-compliance with best practice, policy or legislation, particularly in relation to the use of AI or the vulnerability of information to AI tools.
- Prioritising workload to ensure that case deadlines are met.
- Identifying data or information risks and escalating to senior members of the team where appropriate.
Essential Criteria
- Technical knowledge of M365 applications, structure and functionality, including metadata.
- Understanding of public sector obligations relating to information management e.g. under GDPR, FOIA, Public Records Act etc and the Pensions Act 2005, Criminal Justice Act or similar legislation.
- Knowledge and experience of using Purview and related tools to report on platform use.
- Understanding of Information Management and Information Security policies and how to apply them.
- Understanding of ownership and stewardship / local information manager roles and accountabilities.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, set targets, determine priorities and deal with conflicting demands.
- Experience of communicating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including at senior level.
- Experience of supporting decision making.
