Here at The Penny Group, we have an established trainee programme with a proven record of producing high quality talent. Our Trainee Adviser track is overseen and run by our Adviser Development Manager who will work with you to ensure you meet the qualification requirements for your desired role (and onward to Chartered Status) and to develop the skills required to become a successful adviser. You will benefit from working in close proximity to our advising Directors and Financial Planning Team who are Chartered Financial Planners, or Diploma qualified and working toward Chartered Status (we are a Chartered firm), along with colleagues at different stages of their development ,as well as technical experts and other key contributors to our business. We are based in a modern suite of offices in central London, with additional locations in Woking, Surrey and Hungerford, Berkshire.

Relevant Experience, Skills & Knowledge Required
Experience:
• Strong background in administration and a good understanding of business support systems and processes preferred.
Knowledge:
• Good overall knowledge of the financial services market including: Core products/tax wrappers – the role of a Financial Adviser - Principles of fund management
• IT literate – knowledge of Intelliflo and use of Platforms an advantage
Skills:
• Team Player with the ability to achieve agreed outcomes under own initiative
• Excellent organisational, time management & prioritisation skills
• High attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and confident telephone manner

Qualifications:
• CII R0 Exams to be acquired and passed through Academy Programme

Our trainee positions are initially office based to increase the opportunities to learn from colleagues. An office based/working from home split is available once you have successfully passed the Probationary period.
We offer a starting salary that rises upon achievement of 4 of the 6 CII 'RO' units, with further increases upon attainment of adviser status and throughout the various stages of promotion that follow. There is also a bonus scheme of up to 12% of basic, while you “learn the ropes,” along with other competitive benefits including pension, life cover, income protection and private medical insurance.
