A place to eat, drink, dance and meet, The Pembroke opens its doors to those who wish to fill their world with the finest experiences, from cocktails to culture, billiards to business. Emies is our late night bar and club, open for drinks and dancing from early evening until 3 am. Located on the fourth floor with views across London, this will be a central feature of The Pembroke for both general opening and private events.
ROLE OVERVIEW
To further elevate and enhance our operations, we are seeking an accomplished Late-Night Manager to contribute and deliver on the club’s success, providing exceptional experiences for our members. The ideal candidate is dynamic, highly composed, and experienced with overseeing operations during peak evening and late-night hours within luxury hospitality. Reporting to the Club Manager, who oversees all F&B outlets, this is a senior, hands‑on leadership role responsible for the club’s atmosphere, service standards, and operational control from late evening through to close. This role blends refined hospitality with high-energy nightlife management. The successful candidate will confidently lead teams in a fast-paced, party-driven environment while maintaining the discretion, safety, and elevated service expected of a private members’ club. Acting as the senior decision‑maker and duty manager on shift, the Late‑Night Manager ensures a seamless, vibrant, and well‑controlled member experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take full ownership of the club’s late-night operations, ensuring a seamless transition from evening service into a high-energy nightlife environment.
- Lead and coordinate front‑of‑house, bar, and security teams during late‑night service.
- Act as the senior manager on duty, making real‑time decisions to maintain service flow, safety, and atmosphere.
- Maintain a strong and visible presence on the floor, engaging with members while overseeing operations.
- Curate and protect the club’s vibe, balancing energy with control and discretion.
- Manage member relations, handling requests, VIP hosting, and any issues with confidence and professionalism.
- Work closely with DJs, entertainment, and events teams to ensure smooth execution of late‑night programming.
- Monitor capacity, guest flow, and entry management in line with licensing and safety regulations.
- Oversee responsible alcohol service and ensure team adherence to all licensing laws.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to incidents, coordinating with security and senior leadership where required.
- Manage late‑night staffing levels, breaks, and team performance under pressure.
- Ensure the venue remains clean, organised, and presentable throughout service and at close‑down.
- Complete end‑of‑night reporting, including incidents, sales, and operational feedback.
- Support the Club Manager in refining late‑night strategy, programming, and member engagement.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in a senior management role within a high‑end bar, nightclub, or late‑night luxury venue.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to command respect in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment.
- Excellent understanding of nightlife operations, including guest flow, security coordination, and atmosphere management.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging a high‑profile and discerning membership.
- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and solutions‑oriented under pressure.
- Sound knowledge of licensing laws, responsible alcohol service, and health & safety compliance.
- Experience managing and coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams (floor, bar, security, entertainment).
