Overview

Based in Cornwall in an imaginative and creative office (winners of Best Place to Work in Cornwall 2024), The Peloton pride ourselves on approaching business in an innovative way. Whilst accountancy and tax are the core of what we do, we constantly strive to build excellent relationships with our clients and ensure we carry out our work as effectively and efficiently as possible. Our work environment is stunning, we prioritise the use of technology wherever possible, and our team are magnificent…but that is what you might expect from a business that has achieved B-Corp status in the last 12 months and is 100% employee-owned.

We continue to seek new challenges and opportunities to improve the way we do things. We know that all our employees’ voices are important to us, including yours, and that helps us lead the accountancy and business community.

If you want to work in a fun and innovative company, then drop us a line, pick up the phone or pop in and see us.

What Can We Offer You?

  • Compressed hours (option to work a full-time week in 4 days)
  • Salary in the region of ÂŁ27k – ÂŁ33k based on experience.
  • A tax-free profit share after an initial probationary period (up to ÂŁ3,600 per year).
  • 25 Days annual leave, plus bank holidays, plus a day off for your birthday.
  • Private medical insurance is provided free to all employees, with an option to add family members.
  • A beautiful modern working environment where home-cooked lunches are the norm.
  • The most amazing and supportive team.
  • Oh, and we’re super relaxed – so leave the suit and tie at home.

This is ideally a full-time, permanent role based in our Penryn office, but we’re open to part-time candidates too.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for an Experienced Accountant.

Some of the things we are looking for are as follows, but don’t be afraid if you don’t tick every box. We are a friendly bunch, and it would be great to hear from you regardless.

  • 2+ years’ experience in a practice environment
  • AAT qualified or ACCA/ICAEW part-qualified
  • Experience using Xero, Dext, and TaxCalc
  • Great relationships with our clients are so important to us, so you need to be comfortable picking up the phone, making a Teams call or inviting them into the office.
  • Experience in accounting processes including:
  • production of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies;
  • preparing corporation, partnership and personal tax returns;
  • preparing VAT returns on a variety of accounting software, although we mainly use Xero!

We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that a diverse and inclusive workforce is essential for fostering creativity and achieving our business goals.

How to Apply

If you are interested in learning more about this exciting opportunity, please email Lucy Bayton (lucy.bayton@thepeloton.co.uk) with your CV and a brief cover letter/email explaining your suitability for the role. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Note: If you don’t meet 100% of the requirements listed above but still feel you would be a good fit for the role, get in touch anyway! We’d much rather a person said, “Great, I meet 90% of the requirements!” than, “Shoot, I only meet 90% of the requirements.”
